Cameras are standard features on almost all new mobile phones today. However, it’s only now getting more use. I would say 8 out 10 people in my store use the camera function once or twice a year. I believe this is due mainly to not knowing what can be done with a camera to help your everyday life. I’ve collected some stories as to how to use the camera in life to help our customers benefit more from what they already possess.

At the core, most uses revolve around aiding our memory and documentation for future evidence. These two functions alone can benefit our life greatly. When you do use a camera frequently, having a $15/month data plan with Sprint is a god send.

Practical uses in and around your car:

1. Insurance pictures of before and after an incident.

2. Document your car mileage for tax purposes and work easily

3. Take pictures of your parking space so you can easily find your car again

4. Take picture of your parking meter so you know exactly how much time you have left

5. Take quick picture of maps or directions for future reference

6. Take picture of landmarks (especially when in foreign country/place and traveling around)

7. Take and send pictures of location/house for a party or get together if they are lost

8. Use camera phone or screen to view in places (under car, under hood) in areas that are hard or dirty to reach

9. Take pictures of pertinent documents and back up (insurance numbers, license, registration)

10. Take picture of your new / for sale car and send it to interested recipients or friends. Use picture for ads.

11. Around town, take spontaneous pictures of the world to keep or publish

On Foot:

1. Take pictures of your little kids and what they are wearing before entering crowded large places (theme parks, malls, etc…), so if they are lost, you have a very recent picture of them and their clothing to find them quickly.

2. Take pictures of areas to remember landmarks and memories

3. Take pictures of homes and rooms when shopping for a home or remodel

At Social Gatherings:

1. Take pictures of friends on their best behavior ;)

2. Take pictures of things your friends possess that you want. Take pictures of clothes, shoes, jewelry, home furniture, paintings, cups, plates, etc… Use your friend’s good taste in place of your own.

3. Take pictures with a photo id of the person so you know who it is in your address book.

Shopping in Stores:

1. Capture prices and features to better price shop for product (model #, price, item…)

2. Take pictures of what you want and send to friends and family for gift time or for something they are looking for

3. Ask an opinion of an item wore on yourself before purchasing. Take picture and send it to a few people to ask their opinion before buying.

Alone:

1. Taking a special picture for a special someone

I would love to hear how others are using their phones. I’ve seen some racy to funny pictures that people have used as backgrounds for phones. I would like to know how you can use a camera phone creatively.
