I’ve had a few problems with other blogs stealing our content without giving us any credit, so we are including this header in my future blogs.  

Sprint has announced the activation and release of the HTC Mogul firmware upgrade.  This will allow the Mogul to be the fastest data rate handset on the market today.  This software upgrade will make the device run at REV A speeds, about 30% faster download speeds and about 300% faster on upload speeds.  The real value of this is that it will allow the device to act as a modem at REV A speeds, something only available to broadband aircards before.  This is a great value from Sprint.

 The phone as a modem feature will cost the user $39.99 per month and includes the web access and email services.  In effect, for $25.00/month you can have high speed Internet access on your computer (provided you are not using the phone at the same time,  $15/month phone data plan + $25/month Phone as a modem). 

The LG Rumor buy one get one free is the best deal on the market right now for a text/email phone.  The only downside to this phone is network speed, so it’s not great for web surfing or web intensive applications, but for those few killer applications, text, email, pictures, and music, it’s a great phone at a steal of a price, $49.99.  Verizon’s phones for this category are 2.0x - 5.0x as expensive.  It’s value…

These two free applications will help your experience with HTC devices for Windows Mobile 6.0.  These applications give you the ability to close applications in the background with a simple click on the front screen.  Tap the X and close all background and running applications.

Wow.  This is my sentiment of the new plans rolled out by Sprint on 2/29/08.  This is a screaming deal for anyone looking for the best value in the marketplace ($50 less per month than competiting carrier offers for smartphones), there is no comparison in terms of price and value for what you get.  Read the rest of this entry »

The Samsung ACE is finally here.  It supports Windows Mobile 6.0, high speed EVDO data rates, and International voice and data coverage.  The best part is that it’s all in a sleek package.  This is a great phone for taking care of business as well as a night on the town.

The new ACE is a global phone that can help you around the world in a windows OS.  It’s a great upgrade to the previous IP-830 in terms of size and in terms of quality.  It’s very similar to the Blackjack from AT&T in many regards, but unlike the Blackjack, it’s made to work globally on CDMA and GSM around the world and have high speed data access on both. 

The price point will also be very affordable at $199.99, the unit is comparable in many regards to the Blackberry 8830 but with a bonus camera.  Another phone to boost Sprint’s international line up. 

Smartphones are common these days.  These are the PDA phone devices and mini-computers put into one device.  If you are considering a smart phone device, there a few major considerations that you should keep in mind.  As devices segment into smaller and smaller niches for consumers, smartphones are no different in their form and function targeting a specific user type.
