Service & Repair.
By MountainViewCellphones.com, 3/30/2008
As a service center, we have the privilege to witness some of the many ways that people destroy their wireless communications. We are also witness to the great acts that people put on to avoid telling the truth about how their phones were broken. I find it extremely fascinating that the same broken phone situation will effect every person in a unique way. One person will be professional, calm and composed, and another will be a hysterical chimpanzee, same problem, different reactions.
The first rule of thumb is that the world does go on without a cell phone or wireless phone. Cell phones were not commercially available to the public until the 1980’s and 1990’s. It was not until the 21st Century that prices came down far enough that mass adoption was possible. So, there you have it, 2000 years of living and going on about business without a cell phone…it’s possible although a little more inconvenient. The world did not end because of a lack of wireless communications. So, if your phone breaks, don’t react to it like the end of the world…it’s not.

Sprint has announced the activation and release of the HTC Mogul firmware upgrade. This will allow the Mogul to be the fastest data rate handset on the market today. This software upgrade will make the device run at REV A speeds, about 30% faster download speeds and about 300% faster on upload speeds. The real value of this is that it will allow the device to act as a modem at REV A speeds, something only available to broadband aircards before. This is a great value from Sprint.
The phone as a modem feature will cost the user $39.99 per month and includes the web access and email services. In effect, for $25.00/month you can have high speed Internet access on your computer (provided you are not using the phone at the same time, $15/month phone data plan + $25/month Phone as a modem).

Our site performance has been subpar. This is due to our host I-Power Web. I apologize. They were a great hosting company until they moved everything to their new and improved platform. This new platform unfortunately has destroyed our blog speed for uploading pages due to their inability to load balance while migrating all their customers onto the new system. It’s messed up. They know it, we know it. However, on the brighter side, they say a resolution should be in place within weeks…
In the meantime, please learn and enjoy the experience of what load balancing does for sites.
Things have been fixed now so. Go IPOWER.
The LG Rumor buy one get one free is the best deal on the market right now for a text/email phone. The only downside to this phone is network speed, so it’s not great for web surfing or web intensive applications, but for those few killer applications, text, email, pictures, and music, it’s a great phone at a steal of a price, $49.99. Verizon’s phones for this category are 2.0x - 5.0x as expensive. It’s value…
The LG Rumor was the most popular phone at Sprint 3 months ago and it’s still going strong. There is a new green, “earth friendly” color. It has all the features a smartphone does for those killer applications. Read the rest of this entry »

Security.
A friend asked me how secure CDMA or cell phones calls were, and I told him that they were incredibly secure (without knowing the full details), so I decided to look into this matter in more detail. Here’s some of the highlights of what CDMA can provide you.
From web research, CDMA was first adopted by the military for Naval communications. CDMA is extremely secure due to it’s nature of spread spectrum communications and security at every level. Read the rest of this entry »
These two free applications will help your experience with HTC devices for Windows Mobile 6.0. These applications give you the ability to close applications in the background with a simple click on the front screen. Tap the X and close all background and running applications.
This is a common problem for freezing of the handset and non-responsiveness. Read the rest of this entry »
Wow. This is my sentiment of the new plans rolled out by Sprint on 2/29/08. This is a screaming deal for anyone looking for the best value in the marketplace ($50 less per month than competiting carrier offers for smartphones), there is no comparison in terms of price and value for what you get.
