These two free applications will help your experience with HTC devices for Windows Mobile 6.0.  These applications give you the ability to close applications in the background with a simple click on the front screen.  Tap the X and close all background and running applications. 

This is a common problem for freezing of the handset and non-responsiveness.  Often times, windows will open up several applications in the background.  Things as simple as opening your contact list is an application called Contacts.  After a few times navigating to different things, you have 4-10 applications open and the memory on the  unit just dies.  With the memory dying, the unit will slow, freeze, and become inoperable.
